International Polar Year 2007-2009 is international scientific campaign to explore new frontiers in polar science, improve our understanding of the critical role of the polar regions in global processes, and educate students, teachers, and the public about the polar regions and their importance to the global system.

The Institute of Arctic Studies IPY activities have been designed to further an interdisciplinary and cross-institutional discussion about climate change, Arctic people and international policy. Our IPY activities include:
